The Camel Trail

The Camel Trail is an 18 mile largely traffic free, surfaced and reasonably level multi use trail. It provides access to the beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow.

The trail is safe for families and easy to use for the mobility impaired, providing breathtaking views across the Camel Estuary which lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There are several places you can hire bikes along the route.

The route up to Wenforbridge from Bodmin tends to be the quieter stretch of the trail, climbing gradually towards the edge of Bodmin Moor. At the same time, the five or six miles from Wadebridge to Padstow are the busiest. The wide river at this point is loved by wildlife, especially wading birds. There is a hide along the route for birdwatchers...

The trail is suitable for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users. Cyclist are asked to take care when passing other users on the trail.
