Please check the SWLakes website for up to date details during the Coronavirus.
In addition to the Activity Centre there is also a circular walk around the lake which is just under 5 miles long. There is also a cycleway along the northern shore and public footpaths may be accessed from the western shore for longer walks. With over five and a half miles of bank, walkers and bird watchers can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and bird hides.
Stithians Lake is reputed to be one of the windiest inland waters in England. It's not surprising therefore that it is a favourite with windsurfers and sailors alike. The Activity Centre provides modern and well-equipped facilities and visitors can benefit from tuition from qualified instructors, hire equipment or launch their own craft. There is also a children’s play area on site.
Overlooking the beautiful Stithians Lake you can enjoy some tasty treats from the onsite café. Café Lake Central serves freshly made cakes, light lunches, delicious pizzas and fantastic hot drinks. Popular with walkers and families, this is also the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of watersports or Trout fishing. Groups, including coach parties, are most welcome.
This majestic water, one of England's most westerly Trout fisheries, is regularly stocked with Rainbow Trout and contains a natural head of Brown Trout. Fly fishing only, from both bank and boat.
For those who want to extend their stay Stithians also boasts a fantastic lakeside campsite, ideal for families and watersports fanatics alike. With 40 pitches (including ten electric hook-ups), modern showers, toilets and wash-up facilities and stunning and unrivalled views across this 275 acre lake, this site is a real gem.
