Jeremy Sanders Studio
Jeremy is a Cornwall based artist working from his studio in the hamlet of Drift just outside Penzance. Born on South Wales in 1969, Jeremy began mastering his skill at St Martins School of Art in London then continued his fine art studies at the University of the West Country, Bristol, graduating with a First-Class Honours Degree. He was also a Princes Trust Gold Medal Winner.
His work has featured on television including programmes such as Kay Mellor’s “Between the Sheets” and Julie Burchells TV drama “Sugar Rush”. Fashion chain Fat Face have featured his art in a Global advertising campaign and he has had the honour of completing commissions for famous brand names such as NatWest, Saga Ruby. Tui Celebration, and Cunard Line on board the Queen Victoria. HRH The Prince of Wales has personally acknowledged Jeremys' mentoring work he has done for the Princes Trust.
Starting out in business with an art gallery in the Artist Quarter on Brighton seafront he later added another which he successfully ran for 22 years, as well as a gallery in Eton, before relocating to Cornwall in January 2017.
Jeremy invites you into his studio where you can watch him work. Painting in oils allow him a broad, luxuriant application and satisfies his desire to represent colour and light with accuracy. By using fragments of credit cards, he can produce similar qualities to that of using a palette knife while allowing him the ability to use broader strokes offering the detail that a point of a brush can, with their sharper edges and pointed corners.
You will also be able to view his latest Cornish Art Pieces and discuss with him how he gets his inspiration from living in the West of Cornwall. There is no fee for these visits. He does however offer half day demonstrations for groups of 5-8 people for a modest fee of £10 per head. He will produce a whole original painting before your very eyes and will answer your questions and offer professional tips while doing so.
If you would like to enquire about one of his demonstrations please contact him by e mail at email@example.com
Jeremy along with his partner are looking to start up Art Holidays from their home where they also run a successful holiday cottage rental. Updates on this or how to rent the Cottage can be found on his own website or by visiting www.oldworkshopdrift.co.uk.
Guests to the newly refurbished cottage can also enjoy Jeremys' work on the walls as well as take a browse in the studio as part of their stay. The cottage is available year-round and makes an ideal peaceful rural base for those wishing to explore the West of Cornwall and all it has to offer.
