Wallace & Gromit visit Bodmin & Wenford Railway
Join in the family fun with Wallace & Gromit as the pair celebrate their 30th anniversary at the Bodmin & Wenford Railway on the 18th & 19th May 2019.
Alongside a journey back in time on board one of the railway’s heritage steam locomotives, passengers will have the chance to meet the cheese-loving pair at intervals throughout the day. There’s an activity trail to follow with commemorative certificates to be awarded to participants when they return to the railway’s 1950s Cornish branch line station in Bodmin.
Bodmin & Wenford are also delighted to welcome along author Simon Hall who will be performing excerpts from his book ‘Trouble on the Watermeadow Line.’ Passengers can expect to be captivated by the exciting adventures of characters Dad, Mum, Holly and Tom, who are also headed off on a steam train adventure…
Hannah Irwin, Bodmin & Wenford Railway’s Visitor, Events & Marketing Manager said, “We’re delighted to be part of Wallace & Gromit’s 30th Anniversary tour, and look forward to introducing the pair to passengers young and old over the weekend – my nearly-three year old is particularly excited! There’s plenty to keep train ticket holders entertained, including some special surprises and perhaps a few tasty treats!”
There are five scheduled trains departing Bodmin General on each day of the event, 10:00, 11:10, 12:20, 13:30 and 14:10. Tickets for this extra special experience are selling fast, so don’t miss out. Train tickets for adults are £13.95, seniors £12.95, children (3-16) £7.95, and under 3s are free but do require a ticket. Telephone 01208 73555 or book online at bodminrailway.co.uk.
