The properties are situated at Gulval Cross on the B3311 as it crosses the West Cornwall peninsula from Penzance to St. Ives.
Both properties and their small shared courtyard garden are enclosed within a high granite wall which provides privacy and security. There are 2 small patio areas, one for each cottage, and a parking area for 2 cars (priority in parking is always given to those staying in Chyandaunce).

Now extensively modernised Chyandaunce is designed for up to 8 people. Downstairs there is a fully equipped kitchen and adjoining dining room. The kitchen has an electric cooker, micro-wave, fridge, freezer and a washing machine. Up 3 steps there is the main bathroom and toilet which can be used en-suite at night with a twin bedroom .Upstairs the sitting room which runs the whole width of the house, is furnished with 2 large settees, easy chairs, colour TV and DVD.. One of the settees is a double bed settee for use if required. There are 2 upstairs bedrooms. The back bedroom is arranged as a family room with a double bed, two bunk-beds and a washbasin. The front bedroom, the most recently refurbished, has a king-sized bed. In each bedroom there is a wardrobe and drawer space.
The stables, cow-shed and chicken house which were on the same plot 40 years ago have been transformed into Chyancrowse - the two-person bungalow. It has one small double bedroom, a shower-room and toilet, kitchen and lounge-diner with table and chairs, easy chairs and colour TV and DVD.
Chyandauncee and Chyancrowse can be rented separately but frequently the same group occupies both properties. These houses are usually let for a week but out of the high season other arrangements can sometimes be made. Priority in parking is given to Chyandaunce residents.
