Welcome to Saltings at Porthmeor
Saltings on Porthmeor is a micro collection of three properties that all border Porthmeor beach in St Ives. Great views come as standard as do the quirky and functional interiors.
With St Ives literally on the doorstep, restaurants, galleries, shops and more are very easy to reach. But drawing yourself away from these views is going to be hard.
Apartment, sleeps 8-10, 2 bathrooms
Upper Saltings is part of a 19th Century granite building. The space has now been converted to make an extraordinary holiday retreat. The living room is huge (40 feet by 25 feet) with a wide window seat directly above the sand and sea.
A fireplace, sofas, a yew table with broadband access, low children's tables, widescreen TV, DVD player, board games, and lots of books and art materials provide equipment - even for a rainy day. The four bedrooms have good mattresses and storage space. There are two doubles, one twin, and one boat-like bunk room, sleeping 4/6 in nautical built-in beds. Two bathrooms and a utility room complete the space.
The architect has used slate, maple, and stainless steel to make a 21st century kitchen. What you may remember most is the view from the kitchen sink. Under two big skylights (excellent for watching gulls, clouds, and stars), you will find a long dining table, for long convivial meals.
It is hard to beat Upper Saltings for a memorable evening - watching the setting of the sun and the rising of the moon.

Old Saltings is an extraordinary space below Upper Saltings. If it is high tide, you might think you are on a comfortable boat. The architects used oak, slate and stainless steel to create a quirky, high quality, meticulously designed holiday haven. A 3 meter window seat, Landsdown sofa and rocking chair provide a space to gather, to swap stories, or nurse a cup of tea.
A long oak dining table and soft lighting provide a relaxed setting for post dinner debates. The kitchen is designed to have views of spray and surfers from both sink and hob as well as top class appliances. Two queen bedrooms, 1 twin/bunk room and our 'zen beach bedroom' where you may sleep lulled by waves. Two bathrooms (one ensuite), Wi-Fi, walk-in larder, washer dryer, an entrance hall with room for surfboards and wetsuits.
Apartment, sleeps 2, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
22 Piazza is a double height glass-fronted studio with WiFi. The living room has a glass wall facing the ocean with a door to a balcony over Porthmeor. The well-equipped kitchen also has sea views.
The bathroom has a tub, shower, vanity basin, WC. Open stairs lead to a double bedroom with king size bed, built-in vanity and cupboard. Another glass wall leads to a South facing terrace.
