A home from home...

Make Fal River Cottage your home away from home for a while and all this may just become reality. This charming, traditional, dog-friendly Cornish cottage far from the madding crowd sleeps three over two bedrooms. It is a perfect escape for “just the two of you” and a haven for that romantic break you have been promising yourself.

Based in Malpas near Truro, Fal River Cottage is just three doors down from the popular Heron Inn and two miles away from the bright city lights of the Cornish capital should you tire of the tranquil surroundings.

Peaceful stay watching the rise and fall of the tide and the brilliant birdlife-nesting herons, eagrets etc. Lovely comfy bed with all the facilities that you need. The welcome basket was full of Cornish treats and host could not have been more informative. Delicious food from the Heron Inn, and the marina coffee shop cakes were scrummy too. A thoroughly enjoyed break, and will recommend to friends & family. Thank you

Tripadvisor

The village of Malpas is a former vibrant river port which connected Truro (and it’s cathedral) to the Roseland Peninsula via a local ferry service. It is based on the confluence of the Tresillian and Truro rivers in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Fal River Estuary, which is also known as Carrick Roads (Cornish Dowr Carrek, meaning “rock anchorage”) is a very popular location for many water sports.
