Outdoor Adventures

Bodmin is also known for its moorland. Compact in size, though overflowing with things to see and do, Bodmin Moor is the rugged heart of Cornwall. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to walking. The moor is crossed by the Smugglers Way, running from Boscastle to Looe taking in the two highest hills, Brown Willy and Roughtor. Around the edge runs the 60 mile Copper Trail, linking former mining villages, and there are countless public footpaths to explore if you have a map at hand.

For an easier family stroll, you can visit Cardinham Woods only a short drive from the town centre. Nestled in the valley, Cardinham has a number of walking trails suitable for all the family. Don't forget to pack a picnic or visit the Woods Cafe.

For an adventure on two or three wheels, you can pick up the Camel Trail from Bodmin. Cycle on to Wadebridge, or challenge yourself to complete the trail to Padstow.
