With folklore, witchcraft, and Halloween on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to visit one of the South West’s most atmospheric attractions.

    July & August

    Cornish Folklore & Kids Go Free

    This summer, families are invited to experience Cornwall’s wildest legends with ‘Cornish Folklore’, a celebration of myths, monsters, and moorland magic. Expect:
    • A Folklore Walkthrough, featuring the tales of mermaids, giants, and piskies. • A Piske Trail to enchant younger visitors. • Kids Go Free throughout July and August (T&Cs apply). • Late entry daily, reduced entry for admission after 4pm

    September

    Season of the Witch

    Witchcraft takes centre stage in September with Season of the Witch, delving into the real histories of figures like Joan Wytte and the Bideford Witches. Expect:
    • Witchcraft exhibition with artefacts and replicas. • Walking with Witches heritage tour.

    October

    Halloween at the Jail

    This October, Bodmin Jail becomes the South West’s most haunted Halloween destination, featuring:
    • Haunted Gallery walkthrough. • Late Night Jail Tours by candlelight. • Family-friendly days and adults only after-dark experiences, with Halloween fireworks and extended half-term opening hours.

    All Souls Silent Disco

    On 1st November, mark the turning of the season with our atmospheric Day of the Dead Silent Disco, held within the haunting walls of the historic jail.
