Five Places for Me Time

Our pick of Cornish locations to find some 'me time'.

A walk on the South West Coast Path
Cornwall boasts over 300 miles of the South West Coast Path, with as many gentle stretches as there are dramatic headlands. But it wouldn't be Cornwall without steep coastal valleys, sheltered estuaries, busy harbours, intimate coves, craggy moorlands and sandy beaches. If you're seeking solitude, there are plenty of stretches where you can lose yourself amongst the stunning views while getting a blast of fresh air and some time to think. There are a variety of self guided walks you can follow that can take anywhere between an hour to a full day.

Explore a Cornish Village
Don't just stick to the main tourist destinations, enjoy life at a slower pace and explore one of Cornwall's many secluded villages. Take a trip along one of the beautiful rivers or get lost for hours in the maze of narrow, winding streets, stumbling upon artists workshops, galleries, little cafes, and local shops selling gifts inspired by the area. It can be a way for you to truly relax.

Enjoy a relaxing treatment at a Cornish spa
Whether you're looking for an all inclusive spa weekend or just a relaxing afternoons treatment, Cornwall has a fantastic variety of spa locations for you to indulge in. From clifftop hot tubs and infinity pools, to low lit private rooms perfect for a treatment of your choice.

Explore Bodmin Moor
Full of open spaces and silence from the hustle and bustle of nearby towns, Bodmin Moor is an idyllic place to explore and find some well deserved me time. Explore on foot and follow the pathways or try something a little different like horse riding. The Moor offers mile after mile of unspoilt, open moorland scenery right on your doorstep, the dramatic, granite tors giving you a spectacular view of Cornwall from coast to coast. There's green pastures, ancient woodland and plenty of history dating back 6000 years. If you really want to escape from the hustle and bustle Bodmin Moor can provide it.

Have a wander in one of Cornwall's galleries
Cornwall has been a natural home to inspiration, art and ideas since the early 19th century. So much so that, apart from London, you'll find nowhere in the whole country that's host to more working artists than Cornwall. Whilst the Tate St Ives may take much of the international spotlight, there are many other outstanding local galleries and artists' workshops everywhere, showcasing Cornwall's vibrant art scene. Come down in May and enjoy Cornwall's Open Studios, not only a great way of discovering art, but you discover bits of Cornwall you didn't know existed!
