Absolutours Guided Walks, Tours & Experiences
Absolutours offers a professional and personalized tour guiding service throughout Cornwall and beyond.
Hello I’m Viv an experienced Cornish tour guide of 20 years who has achieved the highest professional guiding qualification in the UK – the Blue Badge. Specializing in themed and bespoke tours across the whole of Cornwall I tailor itineraries specifically to requests from individuals, groups and tour operators both national and international. My professional guiding covers many parts of England’s South West region.
I'm also an England’s Coast Ambassador, having completed a course that tested her knowledge of the history, culture, local attractions and scenery etc of England’s coastline.
As the owner of Absolutours it gives me great pleasure to organise and guide tours on foot, in coaches, in chauffeur driven cars with a driver and on public transport whatever you prefer. Proud to be Cornish like my ancestors, some of whom emigrated to the USA, South Africa and Australia, I take pleasure in sharing local knowledge of Cornish culture, heritage, traditions and modern lifestyles to provide unique experiences for visitors.
My aim is always to introduce you to the very best that Cornwall has to offer whether you prefer to linger in popular spots, venture ‘off the beaten track’, take a walk, be driven, join a group or have a tour devised especially for you.
It’s no secret that Cornwall boasts the longest coastline in Great Britain. Magnificent granite cliffs along the North coast and at Land’s End, headlands, secluded rocky coves and golden beaches contrast with dunes, and tranquil estuaries more common on the South coast at Falmouth and Fowey.
Join me to wander around quaint villages on the Roseland peninsula or historic harbours in Port Isaac, Polperro or St Ives. Alternatively, stroll through gorgeous gardens at Lanhydrock House or St Michael’s Mount on the estates of famed Cornish families. The UNESCO Cornish Mining World Heritage Sites not only remind us of the impact miners and great engineers had on the world, but together with contrasting landscapes form iconic backdrops to popular film and television productions. ‘Doc Martin’, ‘Poldark’ and ‘Jamaica Inn’, as well as a host of other films popular around the world, have been filmed in many picturesque locations across Cornwall.
Well worth a visit is the vibrant city of Truro where its magnificent cathedral, towers above Georgian architecture and the modern city where opportunities for shopping abound. Porthleven and Padstow, present a bounty of delicious food products at farmers’ markets and food festivals. Here the mix of restaurants, quirky cafés and pubs encourage the savouring of local artisan products. Sample an authentic cream tea, glass of cold cider or even a locally distilled gin!
Contemplate how fact versus fiction in landscapes that inspired Winston Graham, Daphne du Maurier, Rosamunde Pilcher and Robert Goddard to write best-selling novels, not to mention th se who created the legend of King Arthur!
Whatever your interest it will be a pleasure to help you plan your very own special tour. The choice is yours.
