Visitors with reduced mobility can enjoy the forest with our off-road mobility vehicle, available to hire via the Countryside Mobility scheme. Our easy-to-use scooter can tackle forest terrain come rain or shine.
If energentic holidays are more your style, bring your bike to work up a sweat on the Bodmin Beast mountain bike trail. Our blue graded trail with optional red sections curves through the high forest with features to entertain confident off-road cyclists.

Entertain the family at Cardinham Woods
There's so much for kids and grandkids to explore in nature. The whole forest is their playground but, if that isn’t enough, don’t worry – we’ve got plenty to keep everyone entertained.
Get stuck into the play area outside the cafe or discover the Zog activity trail to learn essential dragon skills. Activity packs are available from the Ranger’s Hut. For a totally unforgettable forest experience, check out Badger Forest School’s holiday activities and bespoke birthday parties. A holiday isn't a holiday without a picnic and family games. Head down to the riverside meadow for a low-tech day to remember.
Dogs at Cardinham Woods
Dogs love the sights, sounds, and smells of Cardinham Woods and the stream is the perfect paddling spot on a warm day. Waggy trails are guaranteed with fresh drinking water and a self-service dog wash in the car park.
Cardinham Woods is surrounded by grazed farmland with vulnerable livestock, so we ask you to keep all four-legged family members on main paths and in sight at all times. Be prepared to use a lead if their recall isn’t reliable.
