Looe - Talland & The Giants Hedge
An inspirational and varied seven mile walk for those who don’t mind a challenge. This route takes in an important ancient boundary wall, that may be up to be 1500 years old, through ancient woodland rich with wildlife. Leaving the woods the route climbs up through fields before crossing the Looe to Polperro road and descending down into Talland Bay. Here the secluded beaches were once a haven for smugglers but now attract visitors who enjoy the beach cafe before heading back along the South West Coast Path towards Looe.
As you leave Talland it is worth a short detour to visit Talland Church.
Looe Island is now owned by Cornwall Wildlife Trust and can be visited during summer months.
Friends of Kilminorth Woods run regular events, such as walks and talks, in the West Looe Valley
