Red Panda Weekend at Paradise Park
Meet the keepers at 2.30pm for a special talk, ask questions and fingers crossed see the Red Pandas come down from the trees. Mask making kits, colouring pictures, gifts to buy, and a prize draw for a cuddly toy Red Panda!
The event is in aid of the ‘Red Panda Network’, which is establishing the world’s first protected area dedicated to red pandas. The Panchthar-Ilam-Taplejung (PIT) Red Panda Protected Forest has the densest population of red pandas in Nepal and is part of the Kangchenjunga Singhalila Complex: one of the most biologically diverse places on earth. It is threatened by human population growth and expanding development. Community projects including tree planting is underway to improve the habitat for Red Pandas.
Paradise Park’s staff have fundraised and run the very popular ‘Red Panda Experiences’ and so far have has donated over £12,650 to this project. Find out more here https://paradisepark.org.uk/support-us/the-red-panda-experience/
Every day you can see otter feeding, enjoy Carrot Time in the Fun Farm, and you could be chosen to help feed the penguins, so have your camera at the ready to capture the moment!
