Liskeard Lights Up is an all day event, as darkness falls the town will gather for the lights switch on, lantern parade and carols.

Liskeard Lights Up are pleased to be supported this year by FEAST, a programme to make great art happen across Cornwall.

This year the artistic team behind Liskeard Lights Up intend to create an illuminated interactive installation in the Cattle Market in Liskeard inspired by this year’s theme for our lantern procession ‘Under The Clock’.

Work is already well under way to recreate Liskeard in lanterns. Community artists Mark Gregory, Biddy Daniel, Carol Whibley and Carol Allan are working with six local schools and a range of community groups making lanterns that will join in with the lantern parade on Saturday 30th November through Liskeard. Community lantern making sessions are also taking place each Saturday at Liskerrett Community Centre from 10am to 1pm, and everyone is welcome to join in. Materials and guidance is provided free of charge. However children must be accompanied by an adult.

Exciting plans are progressing for the future developments on the Cattle Market site and our installation will be a fun interpretation of the buildings in the town and the sort of things that go on ‘Under The Clock’, our beautiful and distinctive town clock.

The installation will be erected on the Cattle Market during the Lights Up day and will be available to view as it is intended once night falls.
