June 2019 marks the 75th anniversary of D Day, when thousands of allied troops crossed the channel and landed on the Normandy beaches in a bloody push to gain control back from the German forces. Many of those making the crossing had embarked from secret locations along the Cornish coast, they themselves having ‘invaded’ Cornwall in the months before, mostly from the US.
The Alverton Hotel in Truro has been recognised for its high quality offering by the AA.
Previously holding four AA Stars, the handsome Grade II listed hotel was awarded four AA SILVER Stars earlier this month. It has also retained two AA Rosettes for its Brasserie, held since July 2016.
The 50 bedroom hotel in the heart of Cornwall was granted the accolades following a recent inspection.
