Here at Blue River Table we are getting ready to start our summer season and with Tethra (our boat) back in the water, all newly varnished, we are very much looking forward to it. Over the past couple of months we have been doing all the winter jobs aboard Tethra, painting, varnishing, servicing and this year even included fitting her with a shiny new engine!
2022's Cornwall Tourism Awards saw many of our Visit Cornwall members take home prizes and so we feel it is only right that we give them a bit of a push here…
Malcolm Bell, Head of Visit Cornwall, said at the awards (which were held virtually) “After two very challenging years, it is very exciting and also gratifying to see the dedication of the finalists to drive up quality, despite there being a pandemic with all its twists and turns to cope with, a very big well done to all of you.”
Wyl Menmuir is a Cornish based author whose 2016 debut novel, The Many, was longlisted for the Man-Booker Award. This July he releases his first full-length non-fiction book, The Draw of the Sea, and has written our guest blog about what the sea means to him and those he met while researching the book.
Wherever we go, and whatever we do, we have an impact. Let's make sure it’s a positive one. Do it #thekernowway. Clean Cornwall is asking Cornish residents, visitors and business owners to consider how we can all minimise our impact as we step into one of the busiest summers we've ever had.
So whether you are a local, or here on holiday.. we all have a shared responsibility to look after this special place.
We call it the Kernow Way
In Cornwall we say 'Doing it dreckly'.
