Here at Blue River Table we are getting ready to start our summer season and with Tethra (our boat) back in the water, all newly varnished, we are very much looking forward to it. Over the past couple of months we have been doing all the winter jobs aboard Tethra, painting, varnishing, servicing and this year even included fitting her with a shiny new engine!
Here at Visit Cornwall, we are led to believe that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth likes nothing better than to relax in the afternoon with a nice cream tea. I’m sure she has a much more dainty version than most of us enjoy, but as far as we know she does prefer her ‘jam first’.
This coming bank holiday, there’s no reason why everybody shouldn’t enjoy an afternoon tea, be it at home, at a street party or in one of the many hotels and café’s that are laying on special menus for the event.
Happy New Year!
It’s that time of year when, after those heady 12 days of Christmas, the fun grinds to a sudden halt. It’s back to those 7am starts, trudging to and from work/school in the semi-light. Someone will ask: “What’s the weather like outside?” and there will only ever be one answer: “Grey.”
We've all been dreaming of eating out again, to have someone cooking for us, to be able to sit down with friends around a table with a bottle of wine and sone tasty treats...
And if your also lucky enough to be visiting Cornwall this summer, then here's a few ideas for places to go and food to sample...
What colours spring to mind when you think of Cornwall?
Do you use Instagram? If so then @TateStIves wants us all to help create a Colours of Cornwall palette "filled with the colours associated with the people, places and things that characterise this beautiful county" with their favourites to go on a Tate Colours of Cornwall poster.
