St Benet’s Abbey is a charming and historic Bed & Breakfast It's located in Lanivet, the geographical centre of Cornwall, a small village between Bodmin and St Austell. This makes it an ideal base for people wanting to explore both the immediate and wider area of Cornwall.

Built in 1411 St Benet’s is a unique building now offering all modern comforts but retaining the charm and character of its historical past. The six bedrooms are well furnished in an individual style, with en suites, colour TVs, central heating, hair dryers and tea/coffee making facilities. The abbey has ample off-road parking.

The Abbey has Twin, double & Family rooms, all are en-suite.

Saint John Room: King Size Four Poster with en suite shower over bath... Saint Benet Room: King Size Bed with en suite shower over bath... All rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, TV's with Freeview, free Wi-Fi, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, radio alarm & hospitality tray and white fluffy towels.

    About the area

    In the village of Lanivet you will find a pretty pub, a Norman church, post office and village shop. It is also the half-way point of the Saints Way, a medieval route taken by pilgrims on their way from Ireland to France, and now a long-distance path which crosses from Padstow to Fowey, making it an excellent two-day walk with a comfortable over-night stop at the abbey.

    For the less energetic, The Camel Trail is great for walking, cycling or horse riding (all off-road and no actual camels involved), or venture up onto Bodmin Moor where you can keep your eyes peeled for the infamous Beast of Bodmin.

    A short drive takes you to Padstow, Tintagel (the legendary birthplace of King Arthur) Port Isaac and Boscastle on the north coast and Fowey, St Austell (with the port of Charlestown), Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey to the south, all excellent days out.
