Hotel Tresanton

Welcome to Hotel Trenton

A chic coastal retreat in the picturesque Cornish fishing village of St Mawes. Olga Polizzi has transformed what was originally a cluster of five houses into a stylish hotel, with her elegant and understated decorative style.

Each of the hotel’s 30 bedrooms and suites are adorned with Cornish art and antiques, and have views across the water towards St Anthony’s lighthouse. The hotel has its own Beach Club, open throughout the summer months, serving food and drink and providing an oasis of calm on the waterfront.

    Escape to the coast

The restaurant at Tresanton specialises in fresh fish prepared simply. Lunch might be a crab and dandelion salad or a wild garlic soup, followed by turbot on the bone and homemade ice cream and sorbet.

The hotel’s magnificent 8 metre classic yacht, Pinuccia, is available from the late May bank holiday to the end of September to take you sailing around Falmouth Bay searching for empty, unspoilt beaches.

If there is any more elegant hotel in Britain than Olga Polizzi’s Tresanton on the Cornish Coast, then I have never been there.

    The beautiful Roseland Peninsula

There is much to explore in the area, and past St Mawes castle there is a delightful stroll to the 14th Century church of St Just-in-Roseland, which John Betjeman called ‘to some the most beautiful churchyard on earth’.

A regular ferry during the summer months will take you to the other side of the harbour where there are longer walks past the lighthouse, and there are miles and miles of coastal footpath to hike.
