    Gwel Teg

Not too far from the stunning Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and also the historic harbour of Looe, lies Gwel Teg Farm, a dairy farm of 130 Holsteins and approximately 270 British Blue beef cattle and Holstein heifers spread over 300 acres. The Dennis family have farmed here for over 35 years and are looking forward to welcoming you to their farm.

A Feather Down Farms holiday is an off-grid adventure as our farms don’t have electricity or wi-fi. Disconnect from gadgets and devices, make memories cooking on a log burning stove, and feel the magic reading bedtime stories by oil lamp.

There are plenty of other activities to take on too. Head to the adrenaline quarry which is only a 10-minute drive away. From go-karting to coasteering, a zip wire, an aquapark, and more, you’re certainly spoilt for choice. Make sure to visit the top eco visitor attraction that is the Eden Project, just a 40-minute drive away. Nestled in a huge crater with massive biomes it houses the largest rainforest in captivity, stunning plants, exhibitions, and, summer concerts and exciting year-round family events.

A farm stay like no other

There is always something happening on the farm at Gwel Teg - take a peek into the daily life of the farmer and watch the cows being milked. Other than dairy farming, they also grow barley on about 60 acres that is used for animal food and bedding. If you visit in springtime, you'll be able to bottle feed lambs born at the farm, or meet the sheep who graze here all year round.

Lovers of coastal walks will be spoilt for choice in this region. Looe is great for boat trips, but also it also offers excellent fish and chips shops as well as cosy pubs for you to unwind after a full day of activities.

Dogs are also welcome at the farm too.
