The Hound of The Baskervilles

Romeo and Juliet

But the surprising thing about this iconic tragedy is that it’s extremely funny too! Performed by Illyria in the great outdoors, this fastpaced, polished, beautifully spoken production has been created using only the First Folio text, the most authoritative edition of Shakespeare’s plays. Illyria first performed this terrific play more than two decades ago to critical acclaim worldwide.

The Tempest – Festival Players

Legend has it there are five types of faery in Cornwall: the Small Folk, the Piskies, the Knockers, the Brownies and - most mischievous of all - the Spriggans. Curious Creatures Squashbox
Welcome to the Curious Creatures wildlife park, established by Jeremiah Johnson: world-renowned explorer, zoologist and animal collector. Nobody knows more about animals than him.
Unfortunately, Jeremiah Johnson is currently lost somewhere in the jungles of Africa, so he has handed the running of the park over to his inexperienced nephew Craig… and things don’t quite go as planned.
Expect to meet curious creatures of all shapes and sizes: from performing fleas, skateboarding snails and gymnastic gerbils to irritable alligators, over-excited elephants, and a very intelligent orang-utan!
Learn about how animals evolved, how their amazing adaptations help them survive in the wild, and how animals can help us learn more about ourselves. After all, we’re all related if you go back far enough!
Using puppets, comedy, slapstick and live music - plus lots of amazing natural history facts - Squashbox Theatre will uncover the mysteries of the animal kingdom.

The Adventures of Doctor Dolittle
Illyria
Doctor Dolittle leads a simple life as the village doctor in sleepy Puddleby-On-The-Marsh. He often undercharges his patients, or even treats them for free, so he is terribly poor. But one day, with the help of his wise old parrot Polynesia, he makes an extraordinary discovery: that he can talk to animals.
As news of his talent as an animal doctor spreads, animals across the world send messages asking for his help. So he borrows a leaky old ship and embarks on a thrilling quest to cure illness, spread kindness, and better understand animals everywhere. He is joined on his adventures by a loyal animal crew: Jip (a dog), Chee-Chee (a monkey), Dab Dab (a duck), and Gub Gub (an everhungry, cake-loving pig) –who together may even help him fix his money problems once and for all!

Using only silly puppets, ridiculous and unnecessary props, ludicrous wigs and assorted fruits and vegetables, Squashbox Theatre will reveal the secrets of the universe!
Journey to the Stars! is a marvellous blend of puppetry, storytelling, live music and comedy, sprinkled with astounding science and astronomy facts, and all contained within an accessible, funny and unique family show.

The Beast of Bodmin, but not as you know it!
A new Cornish Comedy Musical for ages 2-102, where you can laugh along together. Perfect for fans of Horrible Histories, Ghosts and 49 Steps the play. The Beast was created for Sterts and is the launch production opening the newly rebuilt theatre. It transports you to Cornwall at the turn of the century, where Victorian science rules the waves, and jam goes before cream on scones. Join Mary, motor-mouth go-getter, and Edward, terrified hypochondriac, as they venture deep, deep into the wilds of Bodmin Moor.

Born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holding dual Irish and American citizenship and now settled in Cornwall, she brings the eclecticism of her background to her “captivating, unorthodox songwriting” (PopMatters) and choice of material, spanning genres and defying categorisation.
All this is abundantly demonstrated by her new live album and video series The St Buryan Sessions.
The Band of His Majesty's Royal Marines, Plymouth
RM Band Plymouth is based at HMS Raleigh in Torpoint, Cornwall. The band undertakes a wide variety of ceremonial work of national importance, as well as fulfilling its main role of providing music for the ships and establishments of the Royal Navy.
Having been involved in both local and national commemorations in 2022 and 2023, the band, with their elective mix of music, is looking forward to performing to their local audience.
What better way to end the summer than with a performance by the premier military band in the UK. The concert will feature classic marches, overtures, soloists, a spectacular finale and not forgetting the ever-present Corps of Drums, this will be an evening not to be missed.

But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean.
