Play your way with the National Trust’s Summer of Play here in the South West
This summer, the National Trust’s much-loved Summer of Play, sponsored by Starling Bank, is back—bringing a family-friendly festival atmosphere to 175 National Trust places across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Running throughout the school holidays, Summer of Play is jam-packed with playful experiences and family activities. Best of all, it’s included with standard admission (and free for National Trust members), with no need to pre-book—just turn up and join the fun.
Trelissick
Play on repeat this summer at Trelissick, where there’s no end to the fun. Get active and play tennis on the West Lawn, try lawn games or hold a race to the finish line. Who will be the champion? Embrace your creativity and make-believe in the stables where you’ll find a stage ready for you to dress up, put on a show and tell stories.
With different activities scheduled every weekday there’s there are so many reasons to play on repeat at Trelissick. Take aim on Mondays and have a go at archery or make-believe on Tuesdays with storytelling from local authors and volunteers. On a Wednesday stretch, breathe and feel calm with outdoor family yoga sessions and clown around every Thursday by honing your circus skills. Fancy dress Fridays are your chance to really let your imagination loose – we can’t wait to see what fantastical creatures you create.
Pentire
Throughout the summer come along to Pentire and have a go at fun activities and challenges. Immerse in nature this summer and have fun finding out more about some of the wildlife that make Pentire their home. There's space to picnic in the shade or grab an ice cream at Pentyr Café. Make a day of it by exploring the wider Pentire headland, criss-crossed with footpaths to explore. The beach at Pentireglaze Haven is about a 15 minute walk along a sloping track.
Trerice
Enjoy a summer of family-fun activities at Trerice!
Come and enjoy the great outdoors with our summer of play activities at Trerice. Head down to the mowhay field to have a run around and challenge your family to an obstacle course and crazy golf. Get creative amongst the long grass and winding paths and have a go at some outdoor games.
Antony
Head to Antony this summer for days jam-packed with fun for all the family. See who can build the best block tower, complete our giant games the quickest, or win in a game of tennis. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between 20 July - 31 August (including Monday 25 August), join us for a summer fete, with traditional garden games, cricket, tennis, croquet, and so much more.
