Family Fun: Multigenerational Holidays in Cornwall

Newquay Zoo It doesn’t matter what age you are, a trip to the zoo is always a fun day out. Bodmin Moor If you’re an adventurous family, then head up to Bodmin Moor and explore one of Cornwall’s most breathtaking Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visit Dozmary Pool which has connections to King Arthur, and look out for footprints of the mysterious Beast of Bodmin that’s said to roam the land. There are plenty of fantastic attractions dotted around the unspoilt landscape that are perfect for 3G families, such as Carnglaze Slate Caverns. Aside from the attractions, Bodmin Moor is one of the best places to enjoy a family stroll, with many walking trails available to suit all abilities.

Minack Theatre No holiday to Cornwall would be complete without a trip to the amazing Minack Theatre. Carved into the cliffs overlooking the beautiful Porthcurno Bay, discover over 80 years of history, then settle down and watch a show against the scenic backdrop. You’ll even get the opportunity to take a tour of the backstage areas, so you can see where actors prepare for their performances. Before you go, don’t forget to visit the exhibition centre, where you’ll see the fascinating story of the Minack Theatre from its early life to present day.

The Eden Project For a fun and educational family day out, a trip to the Eden Project is a must. With over 1,000 varieties of plants to explore, you’ll find out more about how humans depend on plant life and how Eden can help when it comes to a more sustainable future. The Eden Project isn’t just your ordinary indoor rainforest either. With sculptures, bridges, climbing frames and even England’s longest and fastest zip wire, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained.

National Maritime Museum Cornwall is renowned for its beautiful beaches and sparkling seas, so what better way to celebrate this than a visit to the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth? Home to a range of interesting exhibitions, you’ll be taken on a voyage of discovery to learn all about Cornwall’s maritime history. Kids and adults alike will love the Survival Zone, where you can hop on-board the jet ski, life raft and lifeboat to learn all about sea survival stories from many years ago.

Beautiful Beaches There’s no denying it – Cornwall’s beaches are amazing. There’s also nothing that sums up the benefits of a multigenerational holiday more than a trip to the beach. From a game of beach cricket to taking to the waves on a fishing trip, there’s so much to enjoy on the Cornish coast.
