Five to try: Wild Saunas

    Saunas by the sea are on the rise in Cornwall, offering the perfect way to unwind along the picturesque coastline and elevate your wellness routine all while connecting to nature. From the rugged cliffs of the north coast to the serene gardens of Penzance, we’ve put together five of our favourite wild sauna spots to try, all perfectly positioned for a dip in the sea if you’re feeling up for it!

    Olla Hiki Sauna

    Perched on Fistral Beach, the Olla Hiki wood-fired sauna provides an idyllic setting to unwind after a surf session. From this vantage point, you can soak in views of Fistral’s expansive sands and the sea, famous for its dramatic waves and wild swells, all while relaxing in the sauna.     Bedruthan Sensory Spa Garden

    Situated on the cliffside of the wild North coast, Bedruthan Hotel and Spa houses a Sensory Spa Garden offering a perfect getaway for both day visitors and holiday makers.     Located alongside St Anthony Gardens in Penzance, Rising Embers offers a tranquil escape just a short walk from the bustling Penzance coastline and very close to the iconic Jubilee Pool. Drawing inspiration from traditional Finnish sauna culture, this experience transports the soothing practices of Scandinavia to the shores of West Cornwall. We recommend pairing your sauna excursion with a refreshing dip in the sea pool at Jubilee Pool. The heat of the sauna will be a welcome reward after your cold plunge.

    Escape to the Sauna

    Escape to the Sauna has brought wild wellness to three gorgeous locations across Cornwall. Their saunas are positioned on the sands of Carlyon Bay Beach in St Austell, just steps from the beach at Maenporth boatyard in Falmouth, and adjacent to the North Quay slipway on the riverside in Hayle. At each location, you have the opportunity to engage in wild swimming in the sea or river before entering their traditional wood-fired sauna.

    Saunas by the Sea

    Saunas by the Sea has brought saunas to various spots along the north coast, including Baby Bay in Polzeath and Harlyn Bay. On the other hand, Baby Bay is a more secluded spot, a small inlet that becomes separated from Polzeath Beach at high tide, providing a private escape ideal for those looking to avoid the bustling beach crowds.
