Koru Kayaking

Kayaking in St Agnes & The Helford with Koru is the only way to appreciate the drama of the coast of Cornwall.

Sea kayaking adventures in St Agnes start at Trevaunance Cove which is in the desirable village of St Agnes and we will either head East or West depending on weather and sea conditions.

The incredible landscape is part of the World Heritage Cornish Mining and we will show you the colourful cliffs, spacious caverns carved out during the Poldark mining era and secluded beaches. The wildlife is very special both on the land and in the sea from the bird colonies on the cliffs to the likelihood of seals coming out to play. There also has been the sighting of dolphins and basking sharks.

Koru's 'Frenchman's Creek' Kayak adventure is along the Helford River and creeks, including Frenchman's Creek, the inspiration for Daphne du Maurier's novel of the same name. Launching from the 4 star Budock Vean Hotel foreshore we kayak along the Helford River past banks filled with ancient oak forest, see the Royal Duchy oyster farms and the shipwreck on Frenchman's Creek! An abundance of wildlife with herons, egrets, kingfishers and even the occasional seal spotted!

Kayak adventures lasts approximately 2 hours and on sunny day includes a swim on secluded beaches and the possibility of going through impressive arches and caves. In the summer we run 3 to 4 tours per day and can accommodate 8 people (on 4 tandem Kayaks) per tour.

Before we start the kayak adventure the guide will go through a detailed safety briefing with all participants and a health questionnaire will also have to be filled out. Children have to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and the guide will determine whether the sea conditions are suitable for children.
