Tunnel of Lights Arctic Adventure
Tunnel of Lights: Arctic Adventure will take the success of the UK’s longest underground tunnel of illuminations from the past two years to a whole new level. Transforming more than 100 metres of tunnels beneath the award-winning attraction into a polar themed wonderland designed to allow imaginations to run wild.
The immersive experience will see visitors encounter shipwrecks frozen in time, following the footsteps of adventurers through a world of ice. They’ll discover frozen waterfalls, giant icebergs, ice caves. The tunnels will be illuminated with thousands of lights, filled with an atmospheric arctic soundscape and guests will also encounter snow fall.
While the experience will be even more of a feast for the senses than ever before, visitor capacity is being carefully controlled to ensure everyone can enjoy a safe, socially distanced visit.
From 1st December, a newly excavated tunnel at the site that has never been opened to the public before, along with the main museum, will be decorated with thousands of festive lights. Adding a large helping of extra Christmas magic for families to enjoy during this special time of the year.
Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Charlestown, the Shipwreck Treasure Museum is home to one of Europe’s largest collections of shipwreck treasures with over 8,000 artefacts on display, including the only intact barrel of coins ever salvaged from the seabed.
Timed entry tickets must be booked in advance via shipwreckcharlestown.co.uk. There is limited availability.
The Tunnel of Lights will be open to the public from Saturday 23rd October 2021 until Sunday 9th January 2022.
Admission will also include access to the Museum.
