Thursday 23rd August. Days of Archery.  Join us for a day of Archery with coach David Tremaine. Try your aim at Archery with ‘Arrows’ beginner level kit supplied by Archery GB.  11:00 – 15:00. Normal admission applies. Gates open 10:30. Suitable for all ages.

Monday 27th August. ‘Engines & Enginuity’  MG’s and beam engines. What a treat to finish the holidays on. A classic collection of MG’s finest, surrounded by the backdrop of Cornwall’s industrial heritage. Kick back with some tea and cake and celebrate the U.K’s engineering icons.

Friday 14th September. The Chimney Walk. 10:30-14:30: Ever wondered what the chimneys in the landscape are? Then why not join one of our expert guides on a fascinating walk of the local area, taking in nearby engine houses and industrial buildings. Booking is essential as numbers are limited. £6.50 admission includes a pasty for lunch. Payment will be taken at the time of booking. Please wear appropriate walking shoes and dress for the weather. Saturday 15th September. Heritage Open Day. Take advantage of this national celebration of Heritage by visiting East Pool Mine for FREE.

Wednesday 3rd & 10th October. A Journey through Basset Mines. Join local mining expert Kingsley Rickard on a tour of one of the best preserved mining sites on the Great Flat Lode. Discover what the majestic former mine buildings were used for, how did the huge steam engines work? What did they power to aid production of Cornish tin? Follow the 19th Century process of mining ore, through the mineral separation process to the final product on this tour of the Redruth/Camborne Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

This event will be a combination of walking and a couple of short car journeys so the group can visit all of the mine workings and free entry to East Pool Mine at the end of the walk. Kingsley will be taking a tour around East Pool Mine for those who would like to join him.

There will be a pasty lunch provided to sustain us for the second half of the walk. Please state whether you would like a meat or veg pasty when you book. Booking is essential and places are limited to 20 people so get in there quick and give us a call on 01209 315027 or come in and book your place at The Discovery Centre, East Pool Mine.

Please meet at the South Wheal Frances Car Park, Filtrick Lane, Carnkie. Sat Nav TR16 6JX at 10:45 for an 11:00 start.  £6.50 per person including a pasty lunch. Well behaved dogs welcome. Please wear suitable clothing and shoes for the countryside. Sun screen and hats if the weather is hot. Unfortunately, this event is not suitable for people with mobility problems or wheelchair users.
